Born and raised in Encinitas, California, Colin Cates is a second generation cabinet maker. He specializes in high-end custom cabinetry, woodwork, and finish carpentry using a variety of different materials including hardwoods and softwoods, exotic woods, plywood, veneers, engineered products, and laminates. Learning the trade from his father, Colin started working for him right after he finished college. What was supposed to be a temporary summer gig has turned into Colin's passion and career. Colin works directly with builders, designers, and clients to produce high quality work that helps to create beautiful and elegant spaces. When he's not working, he enjoys surfing, being outdoors, and adventuring with his dog.
